- Test locks, handles, hinges, door closers and cabinet hardware.
- Check windows for difficult operation, loose hardware or damaged seals.
- Record wall cracks, peeling paint, floor damage and mould-prone areas.
- Confirm that installed shelves, curtains and fittings are secure.
Create a clear maintenance record
Use dated photos, a room-by-room checklist and a simple status column such as monitor, repair, replace or completed. Clarify responsibility according to the tenancy agreement before authorising non-urgent work.
